Pandora comes to Los Angeles
Recently I had my Leica IIIa and Summar 50mm CLA'd and I decided to test both out on the streets of Chinatown and Pasadena. I've always been fan of these little camera-an exceptional build quality, light weight, and works of beauty in their own right. The Leica IIIa makes a wonderful camera for street photography becasue its unobtrusive and has a charm that makes people want to strike up a conversation.
For those that don't know the Leica IIIa is a screwmount camera devloped in the late 1930's. Using the serial numbers on both the camera and the lens, my Leica IIIa and corresponding lens were manufactured in 1937. During its time the Leica IIIa was state of the art and used by iconic figures such as Henri Cartier-Bresson.
Study abroad trip to Florence.
Trying out the new Leica M9 and Voigtlander 35mm f1.4.
More photos to come!
A quick shoot down Grand St after work on Friday. Started at the top of Bunker Hill near 1st and made my way down to 6th St. In the span of a few blocks, I ran into a few interesting moments , such as a summer concert and perfectly lit courtyard.
Some shots of downtown during the evening. Was out trying a new lens and I'm very pleased with the results!
